Current thinking 
After discussions with the students about their views on Croom, it became obvious that there was a negative impression in the minds of most. It was pointed out that the village has mills, a river, schools, a hospital, churches and it used to have a train station. It has sports halls and pitches etc.
 As a result students began to agree that there is quite a bit to offer here but the drab nature of the minds image of these was very evident in their dialog 

We agreed that our portrait of Croom may need to kind, almost fantastically so in order to paint a positive image of all the good that does happen in the village
